Sumit Dhawan, Group VP and GM, Citrix Systems

 Sumit Dhawan is group vice president and general manager of the Receiver and End User Services Group for Citrix. He is responsible for establishing Citrix Receiver as the market leader in self-service access to desktop, apps and data from any device, anywhere. He drives product and go-to-market strategy and plans for desktop virtualization solutions with a focus to capitalize on emerging opportunities with the consumerization of IT. 

Prior to his current role, Dhawan has been one of the key leaders in driving product, marketing and Go-To-Market strategy for XenDesktop product and has positioned Citrix as a leader in the desktop virtualization market. Dhawan also led product strategy and roadmap for the company’s flagship product line, Citrix XenApp, and led the growth of this product line to generate $1 billion in revenue in 2007. Since joining Citrix in 1998, he has held leadership and strategy positions for a variety of product lines and markets. 

Dhawan has over 18 years of experience within enterprise software industry. Dhawan holds degrees in both business and science, with a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Minnesota. Dhawan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology.

Noam Bardin,  CEO,  Waze

Noam co-founded Deltathree inc. (NASDAQ: DDDC), a leading international VoIP service provider, where he served for 10 years in a variety of executive positions including as Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and VP of Operations. Prior to waze, Noam served as CEO of Intercast Networks. Noam holds an M.P.A. from Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government and a B.A. in Economics from the Hebrew University.

Albert Wang is an Investment Manager at Qualcomm Ventures. His investment interests include emerging wireless technologies that enable new value chains and mobile platforms that exhibit strong self-reinforcing network effects.

Prior to Qualcomm Ventures, Albert worked in various engineering and management roles in both startups and public companies. Most recently, he worked in Lux Capital Management focusing on MEMS and nanotechnology startups in the wireless industry. He also spent 4 years at Skyworks Solutions and managed the full lifecycle of several wireless semiconductor products that went into some of the most popular 3G WCDMA handsets. Before Skyworks, he played a key technical role in Tavanza, an RFIC startup that was eventually acquired by Anadigics. Currently, Albert also serves as a Board Director for the non-profit Silicon Valley - China Wireless Technology Association.

Albert received his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University.

Dr. Geng Lin, CTO, Networking Business, Dell Inc.

In this role, Dr. Geng Lin has the overall responsibility for technology strategy, system architecture, product innovation, and partnership and acquisition of key technologies, for Dell's networking business worldwide. Before joining Dell, Dr. was the Chief Technology Officer of IBM Alliance at Cisco Systems where he was responsible for the technology strategy, innovation, and solution development of the joint Cisco-IBM solution portfolio worldwide. The Cisco-IBM Alliance delivers multi-billion dollar business revenues from a broad solution portfolio that covers data center virtualization and cloud computing, and video and rich media applications. Prior to Cisco, Dr. Lin served as Vice President of Software Applications at Netopia Inc., a Motorola company. Dr. Lin is a leading expert in communications networking and cloud computing, and is a frequent speaker at various conferences and industry tradeshows.

He received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Peking University and Ph.D. degree from University of British Columbia, all in Computer Science.

Dick Filippini,  Director at GCA Savvian

Dick Filippini is a Director at GCA Savvian, heading the firm’s coverage of the mobile sector. Dick hasat 11 years of experience in the communications sector, with 9 years in investment banking. Prior to joining GCA Savvian, Dick was an Associate at Optical Capital Group and has previous investment banking experience at UBS, Volpe, Brown Whelan & Company and W.R. Hambrecht & Co. Dick received a BA from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from the Haas School of Business.

Karun Bakshi, Director, Cloud & Infrastructure, Microsoft BizSpark One

Karun Bakshi is the director of the Cloud & Infrastructure portfolio of companies in the Microsoft BizSpark One program where he identifies, recruits and advises high potential startups in cloud computing. Prior to Microsoft, Karun was at Oracle. In his last role at Oracle, he led business development for Oracle's database and middleware platforms in the retail and life sciences industry verticals for North America. Prior to this role, Karun was the senior product manager for the Oracle mobile database. In yet another life, he was a “hack", developing applications and algorithms for next generation satellite systems. Karun holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from MIT (on leave from the doctoral program), and an MBA from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.

Bin Hu, Sr. Director, Software and Applications, Huawei

Bin Hu is an innovation thought-leader and technology executive with extensive experiences in mobile cloud computing. Being the Senior Director of Americas Software and Application Division at Huawei Technologies (USA), he is responsible for technology scouting and business incubation of innovative software, application and service in mobile cloud. 

He is currently the Chairman of Cloud Computing Task Force of Open Mobile Alliance.

Before joining Huawei, he was a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff in Motorola, focusing on technology innovation and business initiatives of mobile software solutions. 

He was instrumental on Mobile Instant Messaging and Presence (IMPS), SCREEN3 / Dynamic Content Delivery (DCD), Mobile Advertising (MobAd), etc. during his tenure in Motorola.

Prior to Motorola, he was the Senior Manager of Technology in Walt Disney Internet Group, pioneering Disney’s mobile content technology, solution and business. His experience also includes the research engineer in NTT Multimedia Communication Lab.
