Fred Greguras, Partner, K&L Gates LLP

Mr. Greguras is a partner in the Palo Alto office of K&L Gates who focuses his practice on strategic issues for global software, internet and clean technology companies - with an emphasis on the start-up and emerging company stages. This includes, financings of various types, M&A and a full range of other transactions in both in the U.S. and globally.

In the international arena, Mr. Greguras has substantial experience representing companies with a market focus on or operations in China, Vietnam and India, and in supporting investors from those countries. During his 25-plus year tenure in the Silicon Valley, Mr. Greguras has also been a venture capitalist and a general counsel and CFO for a startup.

Bill Tai, Managing Director, General Partner, Charles River Ventures

Mr. Tai joined Charles River Ventures in 2002 to lead the firm’s West Coast Practice. He has over 15 years of experience working with startups as a venture capitalist. His portfolio of early stage projects has included 38 companies spanning a number of areas including web services, communications systems, and enabling technologies. The majority of his projects have become publicly listed companies (16) or have been acquired (7). He has been named by Forbes to their list of Top 100 Dealmakers in Technology. Mr. Tai holds a BS, with Honors, in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, and an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business. He serves as a director of Illinois Ventures, and is a past Officer and Director of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists.

Charles Tan, Managing Partner, Lumiera Holdings, LLC

Charles has been involved with startups, at various stages of growth, for over 15 years.  He is currently a Managing Partner at Lumeira Holdings, an Angel fund focusing on early stage startups.  Lumeira’s investments include S.two Corp., CSRware, Redshift Networks and Locomatix.

Prior to Lumeira Holdings, Charles was the Director of Systems Engineering at Stoke, a KPCB and Sequoia Capital-funded Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) company.  At Stoke, he was involved from the conceptual, development and qualification stages of the company’s first commercial product, the SSX-3000, to revenue generation.

Charles joined Stoke from Juniper Networks, where he was a member of the development and qualification team for the company’s first product, the M40 Internet Router.  At Juniper, Charles held various key technical and management responsibilities, including being an original member of the company’s New Products Initiative (NPI) program, which oversaw all internally-developed products from business case through the end-of-life cycles.  Charles was also the System Test Engineering lead for all Physical Interface Cards (PICs) supported on the Juniper J (Branch), M (Access), T (Core) and the MX (Ethernet Switch) product lines.  Prior to Juniper Networks, Charles held Lead Technical positions at Wellfleet (Bay Networks/Nortel) and Xyplex.  Charles started his career at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in New York.

Charles holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a M.S. in Software Engineering from Northeastern University, and he is a graduate of Cornell University’s Executive Program.

YuQiang Deng, CEO & co-founder, 3G Portal

Mr. Deng is CEO and co-founder of 3G Portal, the largest Internet portal site dedicated to mobile devices. 3G Portal has over 170 million registered users and the number of daily active users exceeds 27 million. Mr. Deng is the key architect behind the 3G Portal and the company’s GO series apps for Android, iOS, and a variety of other mobile platforms. Mr. Deng earned his bachelor’s degree from Beijing University and received various awards in innovation, technology, and leadership by the industries.
