Larry
Alder
Product Manager
Google Inc
Larry Alder has been a Product Manager at Google since Sept 2005 focused
on Google's mission of making information "Universally Accessible". In
that spirit, Larry works on Google's Municipal Wifi activities including
the Free Municipal Wifi network providing coverage to the entire city
of Mountain View and Google/Earthlink's proposal for San Francisco.
Prior to joining Google, Larry spent 10 years at ArrayComm in roles that
include VP of Technology Development and VP of Product Management. Larry
spent two years leading the technology development group for the iBurst
portable broadband wireless division. Prior to joining ArrayComm, Larry
received his PhD from Stanford University in the specialty of Control
Theory, and spent three years as a Senior Control Systems Engineer at
Adept Technology.
Jamison Ching
Product Line Manager, Digital Media
NETGEAR
Mr. Ching is a technology marketing professional with more than 15 years
of diverse experience in launching, growing and managing new businesses
and products within commercial and consumer marketplaces. Mr. Ching joined
NETGEAR in early 2006 as a product line manager, responsible for developing
strategic alliances both domestically and internationally and growing
and managing all lifecycle phases of NETGEAR's digital media products
in the consumer marketplace.
Prior to joining NETGEAR, Mr. Ching founded and served as the general
manager for UonTV, a nationwide "Do-It-Yourself TV Broadcasting" channel.
Previously, Mr. Ching served as a senior Digital TV marketing manager
and a senior product line manager at Conexant Systems. Mr. Ching also
co-founded STC Networks, where he functioned as the CTO and CEO, and has
worked for other major tech-industry companies such as Motorola, Sony
and National Semiconductor.
Mr. Ching earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University
of Illinois and an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at the
University of Chicago.
Rob Haitani
Product Design Architect
Palm
Rob Haitani, Product Design Architect at Palm, Inc., designed the
original user interface for the Palm OS and led interface design of Palm
products as they transitioned from PDAs to smartphones. Rob joined Palm
in 1993, where he was product manager for the first Pilot and subsequent
generations through the Palm V. His work included the FEP text input design
for the Japanese version of the operating system. In 1998, Rob became
part of the founding team at Handspring. He was responsible for the UI
design of the Treo line of smartphones, including the Windows Mobile version
Treo 700W. Today, he focuses on strategic future design initiatives at
Palm. Before Palm, Rob spent five years in the computer video and display
divisions of Sony in Japan. He holds a bachelor's degree from Yale College.
Michael Hurlson
Vice President and General Manager
Wireless LAN Business Unit, Broadcom
As Vice President and General Manager of Broadcom's Wireless
LAN business unit, Michael Hurlston has overall responsible for the industry
leading 54g™ and Intensi-fi™ Wi-Fi product lines.
Mr. Hurlston has over 7 years of experience in the wireless industry spanning
MMDS, 802.16, 802.11, and Bluetooth technologies, with many additional
years addressing other networking technologies. Previously, as Director
of Business Development he was instrumental in Broadcom's rise from zero
market share in wireless LAN to market leadership today. Prior to Broadcom,
Mr. Hurlston was vice president of Marketing at Oren Semiconductor where
he was involved in technical innovations in both the broadcast digital
television and wide area wireless markets.
Before joining Oren, Mr. Hurlston was director of Marketing at IC WORKS,
where he developed spread spectrum clocking technology and co-authored
several papers on the subject. He has been an active participant and contributor
to the 802.11g committee of the Wi-Fi Alliance.
Mr. Hurlston holds an MBA and a Master of Science degree in Electrical
Engineering both from the University of California, Davis.
Mark
Jacobstein
Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and Marketing
loopt, inc.
Mark has a myriad of responsibilities within loopt, the most important
of which include overseeing marketing, assuring that loopt’s products
are safe and secure, and developing internal processes and procedures
for the successful deployment of loopt’s products.
Most recently Mark was President of Publishing and a member of the founding
team for Digital Chocolate, one of the world’s largest publishers of mobile
games.
Mark is perhaps best known as the originator of fantasy sports on the
internet. In 1994, Mark founded Small World Sports, the Internet’s first
fantasy sports Web site, where he served as CEO before selling the company
to The Sporting News. Prior to its sale Small World’s community had grown
to more than three million members playing dozens of fantasy games.
Mark also founded Small World Software, an Internet technology consultancy,
which he sold to iXL in 1998. Mark served as the Senior Vice President
of Sales and Business Development for iXL’s New York office.
Mark studied Computer Science at Harvard, where he graduated cum laude
in 1992, before starting his career as a software developer at Bloomberg
L.P.
Geng Lin, Ph.D.
Vice President of Software Engineering
Netopia
Dr. Geng Lin joined Netopia in May 2006 as Vice President, Application
and Server Software Engineering, responsible for Netopia’s service assurance
and remote device management platforms. Before joining Netopia, for 5
years, Dr. Lin was employed by Cisco Systems, most recently as a Director
of Engineering in the Network Management Technology Group. Dr. Lin received
his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from Beijing University,
and a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from University of British Columbia.
Dr. Lin is a recognized leader in the area of network management and service
assurance. At Cisco Systems, Dr. Lin managed several engineering organizations
and was responsible for coordinating Cisco’s connected home management
initiatives as well as leading research and development in the areas of
network middleware and service assurance platforms. Prior to Cisco, Dr.
Lin served as Director of Product Strategy for Nortel Networks' Network
and Service Management Division. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief
Architect for the OneVision Enterprise Network Management program at Lucent
Technologies, and Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Bell Labs,
Lucent Technologies. He speaks frequently at industry conferences and
trade shows, and serves on the Editorial Board of Journal of Network and
Systems Management and International Journal of Web Services Research.
Selina Lo
CEO
Ruckus Wireless
Ms. Lo is known for her ability to capitalize on emerging trends, create
new markets and innovate new technology. Previously Ms. Lo was the former
vice president within Nortel Networks' Content Business Unit, which acquired
Alteon WebSystems, a public networking equipment supplier, in 2000 for
$7.8 billion. At Alteon, Ms. Lo served as vice president of Marketing
from its inception through IPO and the Nortel acquisition. Prior to Alteon,
Ms. Lo was the vice president of marketing at the Centillion Business
Unit of Bay Networks which was purchased by Bay Networks in 1994. Ms.
Lo's career also includes several management roles at Network Equipment
Technologies and Hewlett Packard. She holds a B.S. degree in Computer
Science from the University of California at Berkeley. She has a lot of
shoes.
Satya Mallya
Director, Personal Sphere, Wireless & Terminals

Satya Mallya joined the Orange Group in 2002 as an architect and his current
role is Director of Personal Sphere, Wireless and Terminals at the Resarch
and Development division. His group is responsible for developing new and
innovative services as well as evangelizing technology and products from
startups in the silicon valley into Orange's global buusinesses.
Satya has 15 years of experience in designing, development and architecting
solutions in advanced intelligent networks, fixed, internet and mobile services
and infrasturcture. Prior to Orange, he was the director and Chief Architect
at HumanConnect, a startup that developed Sales Force Automation solutions.
His prior experience includes engineering and senior management positions
at Caritasoft, Aspect Communications, Octel Communications and Bell Labs(Lucent).
Satya has a B.S(Engineering) in Electronics, a M.S in Computer Engineering
and a MBA in marketing and ecommerce management.
Ajay Mishra

Ajay brings approx. 15 years of experience in wireless
and networking industry (Motorola, Cisco, Airespace, Interwave) where
he has held several senior level positions in wireless business development,
strategic alliances, product management and engineering.

At Motorola, Ajay designed World’s first GSM phone in 1990, later he delivered

Task Group at Wi-Fi alliance. The membership has now grown to 350 individuals
and 40+ companies (carriers, handset, chipset vendors, system and test
vendors).
Ajay has been a frequent speaker at industry events: CTIA, N+I, Fixed
Mobile Conference, CableLab CTO conference, Handset Forum. He holds an
MBA in finance and marketing from the University of Chicago.
Desmonde Mulcahy

MetroFi, Inc. Desmonde is responsible for Product Management / Product Marketing
at MetroFi. Over the course of his career, his focus has been in the Broadband
/ Telecom market, holding product management positions with industry leading
companies such as Excite@Home, Comcast, and 2Wire. Desmonde received his
MBA from Chapman University.

Dr. Purdy is Vice President and Chief Analyst, Mobile & Wireless at Frost
& Sullivan. He is responsible for generating and conducting custom consulting,
conducting growth workshops for clients to assist them in their market
and product strategy and producing high quality deliverables to clients.
For more than 16 years, Dr. Purdy has been consulting, speaking, researching,
networking, writing and developing state-of-the-art concepts that challenge
people's mind-sets and developing new ways of thinking and forecasting
in the mobile computing and wireless communications industry. Often quoted,
his ideas and opinions are followed closely by industry watchers who read
his insightful column, “Inside Mobile & Wireless.”
From 2002 to 2006, Dr. Purdy was Principal Analyst at MobileTrax. He also
spent five years as a Venture Advisor for Diamondhead Ventures in Menlo
Park where he identified, attracted and recommended investments in emerging
companies in the mobile and wireless space.
Dr. Purdy holds a B.S. degree in Engineering Physics from the University
of Tennessee, an M.S. in Computer Science from UCLA and a Ph.D. in Computer
Science and Exercise Physiology from Stanford University. Dr. Purdy is
also a member of The World Futurist Society.
Ron Risdon

Ron Risdon has over thirty years of successful background in bringing
new companies and concepts to market. He is currently president of Lagotek
Corporation, a wireless whole home automation core technology company
that has developed a patent pending new approach to smart home systems
for the residential mass market. As a lifelong entrepreneur, his early
years included ownership of firms in the music industry, commercial office
products and printing. His computer software career began in 1990. Since
that time, he has launched several new companies that have grown to industry
leadership. These firms cover a broad range of software disciplines from
speech recognition to fiber optic compression. His background includes
many technology innovations such as the worlds first commercial distributed
speech recognition platform, launched with a large wireless carrier. As
President and CEO of several successful start-up companies, he was the
principle management representative for a NASDAQ initial public offering
and a secondary public offering.
Sriram Viswanathan

Sriram Viswanathan is managing director of Intel Capital for Intel Corporation.
As the head of the mobility sector, Viswanathan is responsible for investments
on a worldwide basis in the mobile area. He is also responsible for the
cellular and handheld sector, mobile communications sector and mobile
platforms sector.
Previously, Viswanathan served in a variety of positions for Intel Capital,
including director of the eHome and broadband sectors and director of
the mobile communications sector. He also served as director for the Hollywood/media
programs, leading Intel's activities in the media industry in support
of Intel's content efforts.
Viswanathan joined Intel in 1993 as a technical marketing engineer for
corporate demos, responsible for showcasing Intel's leading technologies
in industry events supporting Intel's top executives.
Viswanathan received his bachelor's degree in physics from American College
in 1984. In 1987, he received his second bachelor's degree in computer
science and automation from the Indian Institute of Science. Viswanathan
received his master's degree from UCLA Anderson School of Business in
1997.

Sven Weber, Managing Partner at Innovature Capitl, brings more than 14
years of experience as an entrepreneur in information and communication
technologies, business development and investment management. He currently
is advisor to Siemens TTB and Wafer Reclaim. Previously. As Vice President
of Siemens Acceleration, he was responsible for early stage investments
for Siemens Communications in the USA. Weber served on the Board of Directors
of V-Enable, PhoneBites and Blueleaf and was Chairman of Xingtone. He
held the Co-Chair of the Telecom Group of the German American Business
Association of California, is member of the VC-Angel Roundtable, member
of Tech-Coast Angels, and was recently appointed to the Board of the European
American Angel Club.
Previously, Weber was employed at Apollis AG, the early-stage wireless
investment vehicle of General Atlantic Partners and McKinsey & Co., where
he held various supervisory board functions and headed Apollis Media Services,
a wireless content provider. Prior to Apollis AG, Weber headed the Business
Development Department at Vodafone Pilotentwicklung. While there, he negotiated
several Internet and wireless investments and was heavily involved in
the evaluation and definition of Mannesmann's Internet strategy and several
re-engineering projects.
Weber spent
several years at Viag Interkom/O2 where he was one of the founders of
an Internet Service Provider in Germany that was subsequently acquired
by Tiscali, and lead the investment in Game Channel, a Bertelsmann/O2
Joint Venture that was acquired by RTL Media. As part of his early entrepreneurial
experience, Weber founded two media companies at the age of 19, a radio
station and a news agency. Weber received a Masters degree in physics
from the University of Heidelberg, Germany.
