Moderator: Sheridan Tatsuno VP/Business Development,
Dreamscape Global

Writer-Director-Marketer, Mr. Tatsuno is a seasoned businessman with over 30
years of experience in the high-tech and urban planning industries. Trained in
novel writing, he began his video career by advising a student on a video class
assignment, which won the 1980 PBS Documentary of the Year Award for Survivors
about California survivors of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings. During
Japan’s heyday in the 1980s, he wrote two business books on Japan, The
Technopolis Strategy and Created in Japan, which were optioned, respectively, by
Central Independent Television plc of London for Japan Dreaming (1991) and Alvin
Perlmutter Inc. of New York for The Creative Spirit 4-hour PBS series (1992).
Since 1991, Mr. Tatsuno has written eight screenplays, one of which is in
production (The Last Millennium as co-writer), and is currently writing two
screenplays slated for independent production. He is an active member of Cinemar
(www.cinemarfilm.org), an independent filmmaking group in Santa Cruz,
California.
In the high-tech industry, Mr. Tatsuno has advised over 700 companies in the
U.S., Japan, Asia and Europe while working as a senior analyst at leading market
researcher Dataquest/Gartner Group (1982-1989) and his own consulting firm,
Dreamscape Global (1989-present). A visionary thinker, Silicon Valley business
strategist, and thought leader, Mr. Tatsuno was involved with the early stages
of the “Intel Inside” marketing campaign, Nokia’s global strategy planning,
AMD’s breakthrough sub-$1000 PC, and Canon’s networked equipment strategy. His
strength is helping companies develop breakthrough strategies. Currently, he is
writing two books on RFID (radio frequency ID) and wireless network
technologies, as well as advising China IP (intellectual property), business
simulator, and online travel booking startups.
Mr. Tatsuno has studied in France and Germany, worked in Caracas, Venezuela and
Japan, and traveled on business to Japan, Asia and Europe. He speaks and reads

Jeff
Freebairn is President and CEO of Big G Mobile. Big G Mobile is a self-funded
mobile media platform company focused on creating an end-to-end ecosystem for
content creation, testing and validation, and distribution for social networks
and media companies. Prior to starting Big G Mobile, Jeff Freebairn directed
sales efforts for FunMobility in the Americas. During that time Jeff increased
FunMobility’s revenue more than 500% with over 100 product launches--selling
applications directly to wireless carriers in North and South America. Jeff
graduated from San Francisco State University with a BA in English.
Big G Mobile is a media platform company with two platforms, Recognize
and RetroFolio. Each platform focuses on enabling media from
different market segments to become mobile assets.
RetroFolio
is a media management platform for wireless carriers and their media partners to
simplify the creation, testing/validation, ingestion and deployment of mobile
content.
Recognize
takes media from the web, renders it on-the-fly, profiles the handset in
real-time, and pushes the media to 100% of all US handsets--monetizing social
networks and other online companies.
Evan Tana,
Director of Marketing and Business Development Loopt,
Inc.
Evan is
responsible for marketing and business development initiatives at loopt, a
Sequoia and NEA backed startup building a revolutionary social mapping service
to change the way people use mobile phones to keep in touch with friends. Before
loopt, Evan was a Product Manager at Digital Chocolate, one of the world's
largest publishers of mobile games. Evan earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees at
Stanford University in Management Science & Engineering.
Selvan Rajan, CTO and founder mPura
Selvan V. Rajan, CTO and
Founder of mPura, Inc., is an experienced architect and designer of enterprise
e-commerce, internet and wireless technologies at Accenture, WellsFargo,
Washington Mutual, AT&T Wireless, Verizon Wireless, SUN, e*trade, Bank of
America, US Sprint, Sybase, Fujitsu, manage.com, CFOWeb.com and BEA Systems.
Previously a founder of Ultimia Wireless; Mr. Rajan holds an MS in Computer
Science and Math from University of Madras, India, and attended Stanford towards
MS in Management Science & Engineering.
Ray Wu,
Director HP New Business Ventures
Ray Wu currently leads HP's New Business Ventures to manage company-wide
technology evaluation process, VC outreach and partnership, and venture
transactions, Prior to HP, he spent more than six years with Cisco Systems, and
held several senior positions leading internal incubation, software investment
and M&A, technology and business consulting in both North America and Asia
Pacific. Prior to Cisco, Ray was a senior partner of a leading Internet
consulting and software development company. Mr. Wu has a bachelor of applied
science degree in electrical engineering, and dual MBA degrees from both
Columbia GSB and UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
Blake Turrentine, CEO, Hot Wan
Blake
Turrentine holds an Electrical Engineering degree from SJSU. His background
includes being a Microwave Transmission and Systems Engineer for Harris. He has
conducted frequency coordination, and extensive backbone infrastructure design /
implementation for companies like Sprint and PCS PrimeCo (Verizon) across the US
as well as BellSouth throughout Brasil. Furthermore, he has also worked as a
Senior Project Manager of Networking Engineering and System Operations for
Pacbell / SBC Internet Services (AT&T). Blake is currently a co-founder and
Chief Architect of a WiFi Internet Service Provider called HotWAN. The existing
footprint is approximately >1.5 miles of high density deployment in San Franciso
and is called ‘The SuperNet’. Way beyond “plain, old vanilla Internet access”,
WiFi Shopping Networks as well as Wireless Gaming Channels are integrated into
the WiFi user’s experience.
Nam
Mokwunye, founder UDC

Nnamudi
(Nam) Mokwunye is the Founder/CEO of Universal Digital Centre Company (UDC).
He is a Reuters Digital Vision Fellow in Social Entrepreneurship at Stanford
University where, in partnership with Cisco, Motorola, and Intelsat, he is
developing "ICE"--a communications infrastructure venture to transform 100
Nigerian universities into a network of digital campuses. In the last 10 years
Nam has focused on internet and telecommunications business
strategy—particularly in the public access space. He was a director in the
team that developed BusyInternet, the largest ICT center in Africa. Nam also
ran the largest broadband fixed wireless access company in West Africa,
managing 24 broadband licenses and promoting a multi-million dollar trade
sale. He also led the commercial rollout of Nigeria’s first WIMAX services.
Nam lived most of his life in the United States where he received a BA from
Dartmouth College and an MFA/MBA from University of Massachussetts in Amherst.
In the past, he has been the recipient of the Flavin Entrepreneurial
Fellowship. He and his wife live in Abuja, Nigeria.
