The Singapore National Wireless Intelligent Initiative:

 Intelligent Nation 2015 (iN2015)  

The city-wide wireless deployments in many cities in Asia are blooming.  Major cities such as Taipei, Shanghai, etc. are just a few examples.  Singapore is the first nation has the grand plan to roll out intelligent wireless infrastructure for the whole country.  

Intelligent Nation 2015 (iN2015) is the blueprint to navigate Singapore's transition into a global city, a recognized hub for technology, infrastructure, enterprise and capabilities.  iN2015 is the culmination of a collaborative effort, reflecting the ideas and vision of the people, public and private sectors.  The 10 year masterplan seeks to harness the potential of emerging inforcomm technologies to transform every aspect of daily life and business in Singapore.

Special Guest Speaker:

Mr. Joachim Ng, US Country Director of IDA Singapore

As the US Country Director for Infocomms Development Authority of Singapore, Joachim Ng is responsible for cultivation of strategic relationships with US government, multi-national corporations, industry associations and entrepreneurs. The IDA US office facilitates investments, projects and technology partnerships between US and Singapore. 

Prior to joining IDA, Joachim spent 5 years with the Singapore Economic Development Board.  From 2002 to 2005, Joachim was assigned to serve as Center Director of the San Francisco office where he was responsible for growing investments to Singapore from the IT, media and digital entertainment industries.  Major successes include facilitating Lucasfilm Ltd setup of their 1st overseas animation studio in Singapore. 

Joachim began his career as a manufacturing engineer with Hewlett Packard’s Inkjet Printer Supplies business in Singapore.  He was later assigned to an inkjet technology development team where he spent 2 years working on developing new ways to create microscopic ink nozzles.   Joachim holds a US patent for his work on inkjet process technology. 

Joachim is a graduate of Virginia Tech, where he earned both his bachelors and masters degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering.
